With all that the current
administration is doing to destroy America, it might seem that the “shining city upon a hill” has
lost some of its sparkle.
Our economy is in tatters.
We are hurtling towards becoming a soviet-style state. Our politicians,
from
the top down, and on both sides of the political
aisle, are working day and night, in secret when necessary, to deprive their
constituents of liberty and freedom. Our foreign diplomats are attempting
to put our nation’s sovereignty under the boot heel of the United Nations.
The president cozies up to the likes of the Muslim brotherhood and Iran while
at the same time dismissing many of our country’s long time allies
like Israel.
Yes, it appears that America is in trouble, but is she no longer great?
The Frenchman, Alexis
de Tocqueville is attributed to saying in the 19th century that, “America
is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will
cease to
be great.”
Let me remind you that
it has never been America’s politicians that
have made her great. It has always been the American people, the rank and
file, the taxpayers, along with their keen sense of fairness and justice,
who have always generously reached out to a world in trouble, through manmade
and natural disasters, at home and abroad. It is the American people and
NOT her politicians who have been willing to fight and die on foreign shores
to right the wrongs done by others with no schemes for personal or national
gain.
These are the things
that have always made America great and as administrations come and go – the good ones and the bad ones – the
American people, for the most part, are still good.
So yes, America is still great!
