Status: Acquitted

“You guys have changed my whole life. I’m happier now than I have been in a long while. I can start new and fresh.”

Matthew Rinehart faced false sex abuse charges in the 1st degree.

Matthew Rinehart and his family took in his 18-year-old girlfriend, Diane Pike, when her family reportedly kicked her out. Pike’s parents strongly condemned her relationship with Rinehart and pressured her to end it in order to come home. Apparently, their efforts prevailed, and Pike levied accusations of sex abuse in the 1st degree.

The 18-year-old Rinehart spent a year and a half in jail awaiting his trial. His family, concerned about the defense attorney representing their son, contacted the US~Observer.

Immediately, the US~Observer went to work and quickly came to the conclusion that the allegations of sex abuse in the 1st degree were not only false but ludicrous. The US~Observer presented evidence to the district attorney (DA), in hopes that the truth would set Rinehart free, yet the DA continued her prosecution.

From the article, “US~Observer Client Acquitted, Another Corrupt Prosecutor Exposed“:

The US~Observer laid out more than sufficient evidence of Matthew Rinehart’s innocence in the two articles we published on this case to have his case dropped; “Innocent Matt Rinehart Jailed On Unbelievable Rape Charges” and “DA Vitolins Continues Rinehart Abuse – Blatant Crook County Corruption“. Instead, Crook County District Attorney (DA) Daina Vitolins continued wasting tens of thousands of tax-payer dollars and continued her vicious and unwarranted attack on an innocent young man. Vitolin’s was aided by an either completely ignorant or corrupted Crook County Deputy Sheriff named Theresa Plinski, who was more than willing to assist DA Vitolins in this attempted false prosecution.

Ultimately, this case went all the way to trial. It was there that the jury heard all the evidence. Attorney James Leuenberger did an outstanding job defending Matthew at trial.

Matthew Rinehart was found NOT GUILTY on all counts.
