We, the People

USA – You and I, our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, children, elders – all 310 MILLION of us – are the People. You know, the People refered to in our Constitution. The very people who have ultimate authority and right to exercise that mandated power. We are each a citizen – and therefore each responsible – and for too long we have all given control to those who would lead us, not represent us; control us, not inspire our republic. And, it is time that the People are heard and our will be done.
Recently, the US~Observer asked for submissions, suggestions and opinions on what needs to change. We received a great many responses, all of which can be found on-line at www.usobserver.com. While I personally didn’t agree with each submission, I found myself relating to all of my fellow Americans, and one Aussie who had an amazing suggestion for our country. It went beyond relating to politics, or spirituality – it was more primal than that – I related to their anger, frustration, and sadness toward what feels like the loss of our country.
Each of us is reeling and it is seemingly getting worse each day. The government has too much control and it is bleeding the people. We can all see it. We are all feeling the effect of it. We, the People, are in fact under attack and we are frightened.
What the responses taught me is that we all need a place where our voices can be heard; where our opinions will be counted; and the US~Observer is that vehicle. We need it spread far and wide; we need constant contributions – stories of your local municipalities and how you are combatting corruption – and we need funding.
Unlike groups who inevitably acquiesce to political powers, this paper can be our united voice and weapon. We can prove that the pen is in fact mightier than the sword.
Reaching far and wide our words would not be hidden; our agenda of informing, exposing, and pressuring the political status quo into a truly representative form of government would happen in the light of day, where it needs to occur.
Remember folks, we are the bottom line. It is time we start acting like it and make them hear our united voice, for WE ARE THE PEOPLE …
