After undeservedly suffering under the weight of a potential life sentence in prison for well over four long years, James Faire is finally free from prosecution for the false charges brought against him by Okanogan County, Washington prosecutors.

James had been targeted by a group of individuals who were trying to set him up. They filed a false police report. They brutally attacked him, making him flee for his life and that of his wife’s. In the process, James Faire unknowingly killed a woman, one of the attackers, by running her over. According to witnesses, this woman was below James Faire’s line of sight. The conspirators bore false witness against James and his wife Angela Nobilis-Faire and the police arrested them both on the charges of 1st degree murder.

James and Angela were both vilified and determined to be guilty by the elected sheriff in a state-wide television news broadcast that ran just hours after their arrest. At that time there had been no real investigation completed. The state police were not called in to process the scene, as local law enforcement rushed to believe the conspirator’s lies. It was this grossly negligent, unsubstantiated assumption by law enforcement that pushed the county prosecutor to make the charges stick at all cost. This included hiding and destroying evidence that proved James Faire’s innocence.

James had a previous land use issue that was resolved by the US~Observer. Logically we were his first call when he was falsely charged with murder. Immediately we began to collect evidence which all proved James’ innocence. In what became an intense four-year fight with multiple publications the US~Observer pushed out elected Okanogan County Prosecutor Karl Sloan and cost his replacement Branden Platter his bid to be elected, all to ensure that the facts be heard and acted upon.

The judge who was presiding over James Faire’s prosecution dismissed James’ charges for “egregious breaches of constitutionally protected rights of the defendant by the prosecution and for continued acts of prosecutorial misconduct.”

Before Okanogan County Prosecutor Branden Platter was replaced, he filed an appeal on that decision.

Almost another year would pass with further prosecutorial overreach before a work-group panel consisting of prosecuting attorneys and appellate deputy prosecuting attorneys from six Washington counties determined that James Faire’s self-defense claim could not be countered. Their determination came several days after first reviewing the case. It literally took a few days for them to see the truth that the Okanogan prosecutors had attempted to cover up for over four years.

The county’s appeal of James Faire’s dismissal was dropped on July 10, 2019. James became a free man that day; free from a false prosecution. However, James has been given a life sentence in public by out-of-control government and media. Many in the public associate James with being a murderer, and there could be nothing further from the truth.

James Faire is currently in mediation to settle a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against Okanogan County and the State of Washington.
