Illegal Immigrants to Practice Law: American Bar Association

By US~Observer Staff

August 14, 2017 will go down in history as a turning point in America. Not because of the aftermath of Charlottesville, but because those that are supposed to practice the letter of the law continually seek to alter it. It is the birth date of the “Illegal Attorney.”

The American Bar Association’s (ABA) House of Representatives passed a resolution that insists the U.S. Congress amend 8 U.S.C. 5 § 1621(d) to include:

“A state court vested with exclusive authority to regulate admission to the bar may, by rule, order, or other affirmative act, permit an undocumented alien seeking legal status to obtain a professional license to practice law in that jurisdiction.”

While it is a step short of requiring state’s to license illegal aliens, it opens the door for state’s to allow the practice without federal nay-saying. States that currently allow undocumented immigrants to practice law include California, Florida and New York.

With Republicans controlling both houses, the amendment to the law may not be adopted quickly. But, because the ABA is pushing, it won’t be long before it becomes the law of the land. Our borders are becoming even more meaningless.

Full text of the ABA resolution:

RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association supports the principle that bar admission should not be denied based solely on immigration status.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges Congress to amend 8 U.S.C. § 1621(d) to insert, at the conclusion of all existing language, the following sentence:

“A state court vested with exclusive authority to regulate admission to the bar may, by rule, order, or other affirmative act, permit an undocumented alien seeking legal status to obtain a professional license to practice law in that jurisdiction.”

Contact your representatives today to keep illegal aliens from being able to practice law, the very thing they ignore when immigrating here illegally.
